I completely support your effort to save your college's equestrian program. :)
I'm an alum of mhc, but participated in smith college IHSA horse shows many times in the late 80's. At that time, the IHSA had fewer teams than it does now. the teams competed in hunt seat equitation from walk-trot level, to walk-trot-canter level, to levels including jumping classes (novice, intermediate, advanced). we all competed on school horses, randomly drawn at the beginning of the show.
Mount Holyoke and Smith were usually the top two teams at the shows. :)
I found some ribbons and trophies from smith college horse shows and thought you might like the photos. Maybe the photos will convince the college administration that smith's intercollegiate horse shows, and Smith's ability to provide school horses and a facility for the shows, are an important part of the IHSA.
